Merge for Notable Ships?

I think it would save duplication on individual drop/jump/warships categories by making use of generic call all Category:Notable Ships Cyc 16:28, 21 May 2009 (PDT)

Notable ships goes beyond JumpShips. Its for ALL ships. Example: Tyrannous Rex (Dropship), which was Pocket Warship during the Operation Bulldog and Jihad, then became cargo-conversion for Republic Era until the Blackout. Where the ship came into service of Swordsworn leader Aaron Sandoval to become his mobile governor house / campaign command ship. When i wrote Notable Ships, its meant to cover from Wet-navy, from dropships, Warships and JumpShips.

I think that such a category could become quite full very quickly. I think it would be wiser to split out the various types of craft. I also dislike the wording "Notable" because that has a specific connotation to wikis (see Policy:Notability. Perhaps "Category:Individual Ships" could be a parent category for a few categories that themselves contain the actual articles? --Scaletail 19:10, 21 May 2009 (PDT)

If its felt that it should be broken up into into sub-categories. I will go along with it. I didn't realize there would be clash with policy article's name. Category:Individual Ships has my vote. Also, my intensions was to highlight ships that were extremely high profile. Which have appear repeatively in the novels & source books. Which is something that seldom happens from my readings of both types of sources. Most of the time, aside from WarShips, most of ships most listed are throw away names give by the author. Which inturn Seldom seen or used again. Thus why I suggested come up with Notable Ships. T-Rex and Voidswimmer, have been seen in multiple sources or repeatively in number of novels. Ships have minor appearance, like ONCE but still significante, i've listed with the category for the Class of ship it belongs to without listing individual name. I am creating Individual Ships on suggestion of Scaletail. Renaming Notable Ships to Individual Ships and moving my two entries into Individual JumpShips. -- Wrangler 11:19, 29 May 2009 (PDT)
