Master Plan

Wouldn't some kind of template or "master plan" be good to give a bit structure to each of the main military articles? It irritates a bit that they aren't all "inline" regarding the different sections, furthermore it would be good to show what still has to be added. I think the Draconis, Federated Suns and Capellan military articles show a good structure but there is still room. I'm thinking of a section for "Deployment" with subsection for 3025 from Housebooks, 3050 from 20 Year Update, 3054 from Objective Raid, late '50s to early '60s from Field Manuals and 3067 from Field Manual Update, all made in a similar style like the tables from those books.--BigDuke66 20:04, 19 July 2008 (CDT)

The articles should be pretty similar, since I made sure they were. Thank you for making sure that they are even better and more uniform! I think I had stopped using "...of organization X" in section titles because it was redundant. I am reluctant to "codify" the articles because I do not want to imply that nothing else can be added. After all, there are not many articles to keep track of and ensure uniformity. We just have to do it.

I do have a vision of a descending series that would take a reader from, for example, "AFFS" to "Davion Brigade of Guards" to "Davion Heavy Guards", so I believe that deployment information could be located within the articles that are themselves written for the individual units, allowing them to be more precise. On the other hand, I do like the idea of having deployment tables here, but I think they would take up too much room on the main article, so I could see an alternative solution. Two that I can think of off the top of my head are having a subpage for it (possibly, LCAF/Deployment) or linking to a file with the info in a spreadsheet format. Part of the reason that my content contributions have been down lately is because I'm working on a Jihad version, modeled after the one used in FCCW. Perhaps that could also find its way onto such a file database. --Scaletail 23:16, 19 July 2008 (CDT)

Well deployment could be made a main article. Just like the House Davion article links to a article for the AFFS, the AFFS article could link to an article called "Armed Forces of the Federated Suns Deployment"(maybe a categorie could be made for "Deployment" to list all deployment pages)there I could show the deployment and as I make a excel sheet anyway to track down error a downloadlink would be good too.--BigDuke66 08:59, 20 July 2008 (CDT)
