System Information
X:Y Coordinates-328.01 : -286.324[e]

The Cerignola system was home to at least one habitable world or construct and as at 2750 was located in the Rim Commonality province of the Free Worlds League.[1]

System Description

The Cerignola system is located near the Izmir and Stettin systems.[1]

System History

Star League

The Cerignola system was colonised during the Star League era at some point after the end of the Reunification War.[2][1]

In 2748, SLDF forces discovered a hidden pirate base in the wilderness of Cerignola. When elements of the 44th Mechanized Infantry Division went in to destroy the base, they encountered heavy resistance and an enemy force that seemed to come and go as they pleased. This prompted the entire Division to arrive on world and assist their comrades in defeating the bandits. However, for over two months, the pirate forces harried and eluded the 44th despite the entire Division being on world. The beleaguered troops were frustrated in their lack of success until a scout found an entrance to an extensive network of natural caves and catacombs under the entire area where they were operating. The pirates has been traveling via the catacombs to avoid destruction and out maneuver their opponents. After this discovery, the 44th found every entrance to the catacombs and collapsed them simultaneously. The fact that pirate forces were still able to survive this incident made the 44th the laughingstock of the XXXIV Corps (Star League).[3]

Succession Wars

Cerignola vanished from maps during the Second Succession War,[4][5] indicating that the system had been abandoned or depopulated.
