==Description==
Introduced in [[3060]] by the [[Lyran Alliance]], these are specially modified [[BattleMech]] hand actuators, intended to rend armor in close-quarters combat. Due to the strength needed for it's function, claws are less dexterous than standard hand actuators, making them a poor choice to do anything else.<ref name=TO_AUaE>{{cite book|title=Tactical Operations: Advanced Units & Equipment|edition=6th|page=101}}</ref>

Their popularity with both [[Arena Gladiator|gladiators]] and crowds on various [[:Category:Game Worlds|game world]] arenas, prompted numerous redesigns until [[Solaris Arms]] of [[Solaris]] set the final standard in the early 3060s on their ''[[Mantis (BattleMech)|Mantis]]'' dueling 'Mech.
These Battlemech Claws seen on the various game worlds also had the unintended effect of possibly inspiring the Battlemech [[Talon (weapon)|Talons]] created and used by [[Clan Jade Falcon]].<ref name=TO_AUaE/>
