==History==
The ''Claymore'' had been serving with the Northwind Highlanders for a long time. On its last trip it carried a full [[battalion]] of Stirling's Fusiliers to [[Wayside V]]. There, it was attacked by [[Clan Smoke Jaguar]] fighters and severely damaged, but managed to land and disembark its troops. Once repaired, it was as used to draw a [[WarShip]] to the other side of the planet and disembark troops in the "Straits." In the subsequent ground battle it was damaged again and unable to take off, so the Fusiliers stripped it of anything useful and abandoned the ship.<ref>''Impetus of War'' chs. 13–29</ref>
