The Cloud Cobra was a genetically altered snake found on the planet Arcadia in the Pentagon Worlds.

Description

The cloud cobra was a descendant of the Terran cobra, genetically altered by the first colonists of Arcadia to help them limit the native wildlife on that world. These attempts were largely successful in the misty equatorial jungles of Arcadia. Then the colonists also attempted to introduce the cloud cobras to the temperate grasslands of their world. However, the native steel viper eliminated the cobra nests within months. The cloud cobra was one of the most deadly venomous snakes known to humankind.

Nicholas Kerensky, the founder of the Clans, used the cloud cobra as one of his chosen totems when naming the original twenty Clans. Thus Clan Cloud Cobra was born.
