During the Star League, the Rapid Deployment Mixed Armed Forces regiments were intended for rapid deployment. After the fall of the Star League, only the 4th Deneb Light Cavalry remained within the Inner Sphere. The unit, stationed on Deneb Kaitos, needed to seek employment with one of the Successor houses in order to support themselves and their families. They chose the Federated Suns because they felt that it was the closest to the ideals of the Star League. The Light Cavalry became an important part of the AFFS and quickly became an important part of their roster with their rapid style of combat.

History

The origins are laying back in the Star League 4th Rapid Deployed Mixed Arm Forces (RDMAF) stayed in the Inner Sphere during the Exodus. They were integrated in the AFFS. The ruling family discover the usefulness of these kind of formation and began to train additional commands for the brigade. The brigade fought bravely since the Second Succession War until now and suffer horrendous loses time and again to gain victory.

During the Jihad the Deneb Light Cavalry's homeworld, Deneb Kaitos, was invaded by the Word of Blake. This invasion destroyed the Fourth DLC. Later the Eighth DLC attacked Deneb Kaitos to retake it, but they sustained heavy losses when their JumpShips were ambushed. The Twelfth attacked the Draconis Combine, losing nearly all their troops. The survivors were reassigned to the Eighth DLC to make up losses in that regiment.[1]

Command

The brigade is also organized in a completely different manner: 1 BattleMech regiment, 2 Hovercraft regiments, 2 Jump Infantry or Battle Armor regiments, 1 engineer unit, 1 ranger battalion, and between 3 and 6 Aerospace Fighter wings.
