Lieutenant General Dominique Petain was the commanding officer of the First French Regiment at the time of the regiments involvement in what would become known as the Battle of Fort Gorki, an event that triggered New Vandenberg Uprising. Petain a close friend of Aleksandr Kerensky, was later cleared of any wrongdoing.
