Description
The Dragon Fire is a design that was originally designed in the 28th century, but never made the transition from a design on paper to an actual production model. The discovery of the Gray Death Memory Core gave the Dragon Fire a new lease on life and the 'Mech first saw production in late 3058. The Dragon Fire carries an impressive arsenal of weapons that is made possible through the use of a Pitban 300 XL Engine that weights half as much as a standard engine and still provides the Dragon Fire with a top speed of 64.8 km/h. The Dragon Fire carries an impressive fourteen and a half tons of ArcShield Maxi II armor. It also has CASE to protect the 'Mech from excessive damage from an ammunition explosion, though that will not stop the 'Mech from shutting down. Finally, to disrupt enemy electronic warfare equipment, the Dragon Fire has a Guardian ECM Suite.
Armament
The primary weapon on the Dragon Fire is a Zeus Slingshot Gauss Rifle that provides excellent long range firepower. This is backed up by a Mydron Excel LB-X Autocannon/10, which is capable of firing both standard and cluster ammunition, making the Dragon Fire a capable vehicle hunter and anti-aircraft 'Mech. An Exostar Large Laser provides secondary firepower to the Dragon Fires ammunition heavy weapons. For close combat, the Dragon Fire carries a pair of Defiance B4M Medium Pulse Lasers.
Variants
- DGR-4F - A basic upgrade of the 3F model, the 4F replaces the Large Laser with an ER Large Laser, giving it a longer effective range. The 4F model is otherwise identical to the 3F. BV (1.0) = 1,565[3], BV (2.0) = 1,900[4]
- DGR-3FC - The upgrade of the 4F is produced exclusively for the Word of Blake by JBBMI. It replaces the medium lasers with ER Medium Lasers. The ECM is swapped out for a C3i Computer. The remaining ton is used in the form of an extra heat sink, which is needed to handle the additional heat buildup from the new lasers. BV (2.0) = 1,855[5]
- DGR-6FC - This version of the Dragon Fire carries two ER Medium Lasers and an ER Large Laser. Most of the hitting power comes from a Gauss Rifle and an LB 10-X autocannon. It also carries an extra heat sink and a C3i Computer to coordinate attacks with its fellows. BV (2.0) = 1,858[6]
Custom Variants
- DGR-7FC Dragon Fire Gregory[7] - Belonging to 37th Division Demi-Precentor and later Precentor Gregory Kishimoto. The custom 'Mech equipt with a Light Fusion Engine, Improved C3i computer, Small Cockpit, and Endosteel. For weaponry, it has a left torso mounted Heavy Gauss Rifle with 2 tons of ammunition. Its backup by a Plasma Rifle with two 2 tons of ammunitiion which is protected by CASE. For an added medium-range attack it also has a Light PPC, and pair of ER Medium Lasers. BV (2.0) = 2,230[8]
