Description[edit]

The twenty-fifth century Dragonfire would push the limits of modern technology to rival heavy fighters like the Marik Eagle and the Lyran Hurricane.

The Dragonfire would become one of the primary aerospace fighters of the Capellan Confederation, with Saroyan forced to expand its factory site fourfold to keep up the demand. In fact, it was so successful that 12 attempts had been made to steal the plans from neighbors by mid 2420, though eventually House Marik was able to acquire it. The design's prominence lasted until the first generation of modern aerospace fighters built with advances in fusion and armor technologies spurred by the BattleMech arms race. Though several attempts were made to keep the fighter up to date with the new innovations, all attempts failed.

By the early twenty-sixth century, the Dragonfire had been relegated to backwater militias and by mid-century it had all but disappeared. The Dragonfire served as the inspiration for the Transgressor air-frame, setting up Saroyan's success again.

Weapons and Equipment[edit]

The Dragonfire was equipped with a primitive engine, cockpit, and armor. A medium laser was mounted in the nose for short range fighting, while a large laser and LRM-10 launcher in each wing provided longer ranged power. A single SRM-2 launcher was posted to the aft to deter pursuers.

Variants[edit]

Due to its short service life, no variants were known to exist.
