A merged Free Worlds League duchy which was formed after the Jihad.
Description
The Duchy borders on the Lyran border and close to Marik-Stewart Commonwealth. The Capital of the Duchy is city of Zanzibar on Tamarind.
The nation is ruled by Duke Fontaine Marik and his wife Karli Marik until her death in 3134.
Notable Historical Events
In 3137, Lyran Commonwealth launched their military campaign code named Operation Hammerfall. Striking Duchy, neigboring independant worlds and the Commonwealth at same time.
Not prepared for such event, the Duchy suffered numerous losses to Lyran invaders. Nearly cut in half by November, Trillian Steiner was sent by Archon to confront Fontaine to convince him to end the invasion. Fontaine refused, struck back at causing Trillian to go into hiding.
Later, reinforcements of the Broken Swords Battalion under the command of Hauptman Roderick Frost arrived to rescue her. Lyrans after course weeks of fighting with world's defending 1st Tamarind Regulars, managed overwhelm the defenders and take Tamarind but fail to take Fontaine.
Fontaine, begins a campaign to re-take portions of his Duchy back, with aide of Christopher Halas-Huges Marik.
