Enrico Kirov was a Clan Goliath Scorpion warrior who served as Khan of the Escorpión Imperio during the early thirty-second century.[2]

History[edit]

Succeeding Conner Rood as Khan of the Imperio in 3108, Kirov oversaw a period of expansion and reform during his twenty-nine year tenure.[2]

Believing that a war of conquest against the Hanseatic League was inevitable at some point, Kirov expanded the size of the Imperio's touman and transferred the Imperio capital from Granada to Valencia. The latter world, with its better-educated population and superior infrastructure, was able to become the new hub of the Imperio's military and territorial expansion.[2]

To facilitate this growth, Kirov also implemented cultural changes which helped erase lingering hostility between the former Nueva Castilians and their Clan overlords. Freeborn youths from all three Imperio societies - Castilian, Umayyad and Clan civilian - were granted the opportunity to join the warrior caste. Together with an increase in the number of trueborn sibkos, this policy ensured a sizeable boost to the size of the Imperio military.[2]

Kirov was also originally a Seeker, and as Khan, he favored Chi Galaxy over Hellion Galaxy. Kirov renamed Chi Galaxy to Seeker Galaxy, and established the Seeker Keshik to protect the Clan Loremaster, whom Kirov intended to take command of Seeker Galaxy[3]

Khan Kirov also oversaw the colonization of new worlds in the region of space between the Imperio and the Hanseatic League. Thwarted in their efforts to control Nueva Castile by the Goliath Scorpion conquest, the Hansa's rulers now opposed the Imperio's new settlements, leading to one drawn-out battle in 3112 on a world subsequently named Holdout. The colonists' victory against the Hansa invaders provided a morale boost and led to further successful colonization in the region.[2]

Kirov retired as Khan in 3137, stepping aside in favor of his protégé Magon Scott. Scott would continue Kirov's policies and build upon them to successfully lead the conquest of the Hanseatic League a few years later, forming the Scorpion Empire from the two unified states.[1][4]
