Galaxy Commander Ernest Binetti was the commander of Iota Galaxy, and Bloodnamed warrior of the Binetti Bloodhouse, from at least 3145 to 3151.[1][2]

History[edit]

Jesenice[edit]

Binetti led Iota Galaxy from the Jesenice based Third Falcon Swoop Cluster as of 3145.[1]

Raul Ortega[edit]

Binetti remained in command of this Galaxy during the Battle of Terra in 3151, participating in Clan Jade Falcon's Africa campaign. Landing on day T+36 of the Battle, Binetti and her Galaxy made planetfall in the Sinai Peninsula, where they were opposed by Knight Raul Ortega and the Alexandria Defense Force. Binetti's Falcons were however able to out-maneuver their Republic of the Sphere opponents, landing the Fifth Talon Cluster on the opposite side of Alexandria, and quickly taking the lightly defended city.

Sir Ortega then attempted to draw the Falcons into Sinai Desert via a mock retreat, but this was recognized by Binetti as bait for a trap, and therefore he only pursued slowly. This caution was not however enough the avoid all of the Republic's ambushes, which caused the Falcon's significant casualties. Responding by deploying his own aerospace Trinary from the Third Falcon Swoop Cluster, Binetti launched a bombing raid on the RAF airbase at Khartoum, which despite 50% losses including Binetti's own pointmate, which was successful in stripping northeast Africa of Republic aircover. At the same time, Binetti's armor and solahma infantry were able to locate the remaining ambush points prepared by Ortega, turning the Falcons from hunted to the hunter. Binetti was not however able to rout the Alexandria Defense Force, as it fell back in good order all the way back to the Suez Canal, where a desperate holding action on day T+42 allowed Ortega and his Command Company to retreat deeper into Egypt.

A long chase ensured, as Binetti followed Ortega though into Sudan, where after a duel with Star Colonel Douglas of the Fifth Talon in Juba Sir Ortega was captured. Binetti kept Ortega alive following his defeat, to provide a source of valuable intelligence to Khan Malvina Hazen, but the rest of his RAF Command Company was executed on Khan Hazen's direct orders.[2]

South Africa[edit]

Keeping Ortega under heavy guard in Juba, Binetti then advanced into South Africa where Iota faced resistance from The Lions and the Pride of Zululand, two local RAF militia [{Regiment]]s. Extending through to day T+48, Iota struggled to bring the two Republic units to a decisive engagement, but finally managed to rout them near the city of Newcastle.

With Africa then under nominal Falcon control, Binetti returned to Sudan in order to deliver Sir Ortega to Khan Hazen, only to find he had escaped captivity on day T+55.[2]
