The First Lord was the leader of the Star League. During the first Star League it was passed down the Cameron line until Richard Cameron was assassinated by Stefan Amaris. After the SLDF defeated Amaris's forces, each of the house lords took the title First Lord which lead to the Succession Wars.
The title First Lord was an elected titled during the Second Star League. Each term of First Lord was for 2 years and there was no reelection until everyone else held the post. There was only three First Lords for the Second Star League before it fell apart.
