Fletcher Daniels was a Bloodnamed warrior and the Loremaster of Clan Star Adder during the Wars of Reaving.[2]
History[edit]
Star Colonel Fletcher, commanding the Eighteenth Armored Cavalry Squadron of the Adders' Delta Galaxy, was stationed on Strana Mechty in 3059.[3] Having transformed the Eighteenth Squadron from one of his Clan's worst units into an elite fighting force in a span of fourteen months, Fletcher's reputation as a leader and tactical thinker were extremely positive, although his political abilities were seen as notably less adept.[4] Despite this shortcoming, he would go on to earn the rank of Galaxy Commander and led the four Clusters of Delta Galaxy in the Sheridan and Hoard systems by 3067.[5]
Wars of Reaving[edit]
Following the Trial of Absorption declared against Clan Snow Raven's Homeworlds holdings, Fletcher took Delta Galaxy to Circe in late 3070 in order to claim both the Ravens' abandoned and occupied enclaves for Clan Star Adder. After negotiating terms with the three Galaxies of Clan Blood Spirit troops already on-world, Fletcher's Adders quickly destroyed the Ravens' Seventh Regulars and Second Garrison Clusters. When Clan Fire Mandrill's Kindraa Mick-Kreese-Kline arrived in January 3071 and issued a Trial of Possession for the two enclaves the Ravens had died defending, Fletcher considered both the Mandrills and Spirits to have violated the terms of the original Trial and set about destroying nearly two full Galaxies of troops before Khan Karianna Schmitt requested hegira. Although he refused to grant mercy to either the Spirits or Mandrill forces, Fletcher was unable to completely eliminate the opposition when the Mandrills' WarShip assets threw themselves into the fighting to provide safe escape for their DropShips.[6]
By early 3073, Fletcher had earned the rank of Loremaster for Clan Star Adder and participated in the meeting of the Adders' leadership to determine how to respond to the resurrection of Clan Burrock and the defection of Upsilon Galaxy. When Galaxy Commander Kenneth Hutchinson declared a Trial of Refusal to defend the honor of those Burrock warriors still loyal to Clan Star Adder, Fletcher took to the field against him and secured a narrow victory when his BattleMech suffered a heat-induced shutdown just after Hutchinson's assault vehicle had. The outcome of this Trial later resulted in a quarter of the Clan's Burrock members being removed from the warrior caste or executed.[2] The Adders later dispatched a force to the Priori system in November 3073 to reclaim it from the rogue Clan Burrock, with Fletcher commanding the effort and achieving success in defeating four combined Burrock-Society Galaxies in a ground campaign that lasted until October 3074.[7]
Fletcher died near the end of the Wars of Reaving, in the course of the Trial of Annihilation against Clan Blood Spirit. While fighting to eliminate the Spirit holdouts in the Colleen system, he commanded Xi Galaxy in the push through the city of Lovell on Haven. Before Xi Galaxy's warriors could engage with the armed civilians defending the settlement, a mined building exploded next to Loremaster Fletcher, burying both himself and the rest of his command Star in rubble. In retaliation, the troops of Xi Galaxy spent the next forty-eight straight hours executing everyone in the city and destroying all key pieces of infrastructure.[1]
BattleMechs[edit]
Loremaster Fletcher Daniels piloted a Warhawk OmniMech in his duel with Kenneth Hutchinson.[2] At the time of his death, he piloted a Hellfire BattleMech.[1]
