The Gangtok system was home to at least one habitable world or construct and as of 2750 was located in the Brinton Union of the Taurian Concordat.[1][2]

System Description

The Gangtok system is located near the Guldra and Heliat systems.[1][2]

System History

The Gangtok system was either colonized by the Taurian Concordat at some point during the Star League era at some point after the end of the Reunification War, or was an already-inhabited world that became significant enough during this era to merit being recorded on maps.[3][1][2] Gangtok vanished from maps during the Third Succession War,[4][5][6][1][7][8][9] indicating that the system had been abandoned or depopulated. It was described as "recently re-settled" as of 3026,[10] and last appeared on a 3022 map that showed it to be part of the Aurigan Coalition,[11] a weak political entity itself teetering on the brink of collapse at the time.[12]

Planet

The world of Gangtok was described as an "unremarkable" Terran-like world.[10] At the time of its integration into the Aurigan Coalition it was mentioned among "more marginal" systems (others were Heliat, Mangzhangdian, and Umgard).[53] As of ca. 3026, when it had been recently resettled, it saw an influx in prospectors, merchants and other colonists settling into temporary cities, giving the world a boomtown air.[10]
