Captain Gene Bray was a member of Beta Regiment of Wolf's Dragoons as of 3028.[1]

Bray was reputed to be soft-spoken and polite even in the heat of battle, couching orders in courteous and courtly requests. Despite being far from the stereotype of a MechWarrior, the Dragoons under Bray's command where loyal to the extreme, following his suggestions as if they were Holy Writ.
This may have been because Bray also served as Beta Regiment's Chaplain, conducting nondenominational services before and after each battle.
As of early 3028, Bray was the Commander of Bray's Company of Able Battalion. Following the Battle of Misery, where he fought bravely but was lucky to survive, Bray became Commander of Beta Regiment's First Provisional Company. He subsequently went on to fight with the First Provisional in the Battle of Wapakoneta, where his luck ran out, and he was ultimately killed. His troops conducted an impromptu service for him after his last battle.[1]
