Colonel Gladys Townsend was the commander of the Sixth Free Worlds Guards, with the Free Worlds League, from at least 3145 to 3151.[1][2]

Townsend, with the Sixth Free Worlds Guards, was based across Berenson and Irian as of 3145.[1]
In March 3151 Townsend and the Sixth were deployed to Talitha, where they found a number of Republic Armed Forces commands, which had fled the advance of the Wolf Empire but were unable to reach Terra in time for the Republic of the Sphere's last stand. In order to manage the tensions between the local population and the RAF units, the Sixth remained on Talitha, to observe and report on the broken and battered Republic commands.[2]
