Gram
System Information
X:Y Coordinates54.279 : 144.452[e]

The Gram system was home to at least one habitable world or construct and as at 3145 was located in the Buckminster Prefecture within the Benjamin Military District of the Draconis Combine.[1][2]

System Description

The Gram system is located near the Chimpaw and Shimosuwa systems.[3]

System History

The Gram system was settled during or shortly after the First Exodus from Terra and was a member of the Lyran Commonwealth by the end of the Age of War.[4][5]

Planetary History

Star League Era

In 2784 the Lyran Commonwealth reclaimed the military outposts and administrative centers on Gram that had been operated by the Star League. Gram wasn't the only world where this happened; using a similar process on all three worlds, the Lyrans also reclaimed similar facilities on both Lovinac and Stanzach. In all three cases the non-Lyran personnel working within these facilities were offered jobs within the local government bureaucracy, a reflection of Archon Jennifer Steiner actively attempting to retaining the expertise possessed by those personnel left within the dwindling, isolated Terran Hegemony agencies that still existed through treating them with respect.[42]

Succession wars

Just prior to the First Succession War

Gram was successfully conquered by the Draconis Combine in November of 2785 following a diversionary raid on the planet of Bone-Norman[10] and similar raids on Barcelona and Somerset; the raids had persuaded the General of the Armies, Paul Steiner, to redeploy more Lyran Commonwealth Armed Forces units to the Periphery border in case the raids were indications of either resurgent Rim Worlds Republic forces or a potential invasion from the Combine. The raids themselves were actually Combine units masquerading as Rim Worlds troops to distract the Lyran high command. As a result, the Sixth Donegal Guards had been redeployed away from Gram, shortly ahead of the arrival of the Seventh Proserpina Hussars and the Twelfth Benjamin Regulars. The planetary militia's infantry and armor were swiftly decimated by the lighter elements of the DCMS forces.[43]

After the Fourth Succession War

The Gray Death Legion raided the planet where they encountered the Crimson Blade Company from the 5th Sword of Light.[44]

Dark Age

The gojo berries harvested on Gram earned a degree of fame and were noted not just for their sweetness but also for the potent alcoholic spirit that could be produced from the berries. The gojo harvest attracted traders each year, and in 3136 the harvest saw a Circle of Equals fought between Warrior-Merchant Najeh Hammond, a Clan Sea Fox ristar and Tiburon pilot, and a renegade Clan Jade Falcon MechWarrior employed by a pair of Draconis Combine with a ruthless reputation named the Yung Brothers. Hammond won, despite his Tiburon being heavily outweighed by his opponent's Ryoken II.[45]
