Grape (born 30?? - died 3067) was a Wolf's Dragoons officer killed in the Second Battle of Harlech.

History

Grape was a MechWarrior of Wolf's Dragoons, where was a Lieutenant in the Black Widow Battalion. He (or she) fought alongside Captain Stacy Church in the Second Battle of Harlech against the invading forces of the Word of Blake. By the 24th of December, her Loki OmniMech had lost the right arm, and she had informed Church about their losses before being relieved by the Mercenary unit Broadsword Legion, so she was able to return to the Dragoon's base.[1]

The next day was her last one. She had been fighting with the remains of the Spiders against the Blakist forces, but this time, when the Broadsword Legion came to their aid, chose that moment to attack the Dragoons for the back. They Spider's Battalion was very weakened by the previous fight (for example, Grape hadn't even managed to replace her 'Mech's lost arm) and were slaughtered. Grapes tried to warn Church about the betrayal, but the Blakists, or more probably the Broadsword Legion, were jamming the Dragoons communications and she, separated from his unit, could only hear fragments, nevertheless coming to the rescue of her people.[2] However, when Church's Mad Cat arrived to the scene, it was too late.

Death

Church arrived in time to see Grapes 'Mech on the ground, with Kari Marita, the leader of the Legion's Thug over him. Church still don't understand what happened, but she did it when Grapes screamed her to escape... just before the Thug's foot crushed the Loki canopy like a soda can, killing him instantly, before turning to her.[3]

Legacy

Grapes was the last known Spider to be killed, and his death made Church furious, attacking alone the Legion's 'Mechs, but was forced to retreat to warn the other Dragoons of the betrayal. At the end, Church was the only known survivor of the battalion, but two years later, she will return to Outreach to found a new Black Widow company, beginning a vengeance campaign in which they will annihilate the Broadsword Legion.

BattleMechs

His BattleMech was a black-painted Loki.[4]
