History

The Gyrfalcon Guards have an unclear beginning and history. They were, however, known as the premier unit of Delta Galaxy leading up to the REVIVAL Trials.[1] Following the arrival of the Outbound Light in Clan space and the pro-Crusader hysteria that followed, the Grand Council vote was approved to authorize the Invasion and to determine the Clans allotted to the 4 Invasion Corridors. As expected as the only "Nay" vote, Khan Ulric Kerensky demanded a Trial of Refusal. Despite early odds of 16-1, bidding among the "Aye" votes brought the odds to 4-1.[2][3]

On 7 December 3048, after Clan Wolf had defeated and killed the Khans of the Ghost Bear contingent[4][5], the Jade Falcons then took the field of Mars Field Proving Grounds on Strana Mechty. Overconfident and underestimating the Wolves, while marching forward to meet them, the Guards were suddenly attacked on 3 sides. As a cascade of lost Zellbrigen duels added to the confusion, more Guards warriors fell under pressure from the Third Battle Cluster. The Gryfalcon Guards were then routed, mounting only a limited rear-guard action, while the Wolves held off attacks from the Smoke Jaguar and Burrock units. Less than a Trinary survived the mauling.

Khan Elias Crichell transferred the survivors to second-line Clusters, rather than see the dishonor continue.
