Major Ikeo Takashima was an officer in Wolf's Dragoons, who served as the commander of Able Battalion in Gamma Regiment, as of 3028.[1]

History

Takashima was one of the small number of non-Clan background outsiders to have risen to high rank within the Dragoons during the early 31st century. He was by birth the son of a wealthy family from the Capellan Confederation, but was disowned by his father for marrying a "commoner", after which he travelled with his new wife to the Free Worlds League. Trapped on New Delos due to Anton Marik's Revolt, he offered his services to the Dragoons as an Armor Commander, and was later given a position as a MechWarrior.

From this position, Takashima rose through the ranks to become a battalion commander, with the Dragoons replacing the family who had rejected him.[1]

As battalion commander, Takashima combined his experience in Liao politics and administration, with his lifelong interest in military history to forge his unit into one able to respond to the fighting style of nearly any opponent. This flexibility served him well while the Dragoons were under contract with the Draconis Combine, allowing him to frustrate the Eridani Light Horse as well as other notable Davion border regiments.

While his company commanders were often at odds with each other, his respect for their various traits (Captain Warren Komachi's apparent hostility, Captain Mina Booth's aggression and Captain John Giruard romantic tendencies), ensured they continued to operate at peak efficiency.[2]

Major Takashima died during the Battle of Misery on 8 May 3028, along with most of his command, during an engagement with the Seventeenth Galedon Regulars near the Hamar Valley. The Regulars were destroyed by Major Takashima's forces, but due to their surprising ferocity and skill, the victory came at the cost of the lives of a number of Dragoons senior officers including Major Takashima.[3]

BattleMech

Takashima was known to pilot a Marauder II BattleMech.[1]
