Sang-wei Jacyn Bell was a MechWarrior, who served with McCarron's Armored Cavalry, during the Dark Age Era.[1][2]

Personal Appearance[edit]

Bell had black hair, green eyes, with a narrow and convex face, often featuring a sideways grin.[1][3]

History[edit]

Early Life[edit]

A native of the Magistracy of Canopus, where he trained as a MechWarrior, Bell accepted a "goodwill transfer" to the Canopus' ally the Capellan Confederation Armed Forces in order to advance his career free of discrimination against his gender and limited social standing. His limited Mandarin however, and culture shock at Capellan rigidity as compared to the openness of the Magistracy, however left him feeling uncomfortable with his new comrades.[1][4]

McCarron's Armored Cavalry[edit]

Within McCarron's Armored Cavalry, Bell initially served in a Force Recon Lance as of 3133 within the 2nd McCarron's Armored Cavalry's 3rd Battalion, under the command of Clara Parks.[1] He later, in November 3135 while on Liao, transferred into the Command Lance of Danai Liao-Centrella in order to assist her as an experience member of her new Battalion.[2]

This transfer was awkward however, as prior to Danai promotion to lead 3rd Battalion, Bell had unsuccessfully attempted to pick her up with a cheesy line in an Officers Club on a JumpShip in the Ningpo system.[3] Following Danai to Aldebaran in order to conquer it from the Republic of the Sphere[4], Bell participated in a number of successful engagements, including the fall of the city of Wen Ho on 24 November 3135.[5]

Still with Danai as of January 3136, he came with her to Sian on the DropShip Silver Serpent IV, when she was recalled by her brother Chancellor Daoshen Liao. Still attempting to make unwelcome sexual advances on Danai, he suffered a broken nose, after Danai punched him in the face.[6]

Despite these missteps, also joined Danai on her diplomatic mission to Oriente Protectorate in March 3136, where he assisted by seeking to gather intelligence.[7] During this mission he was even convinced to wear a dress uniform, instead of the dirty field uniform he generally used, regardless of propriety.[8]

This did not save him from being arrested by Oriente authorities on charges of solicitation on the night of 9 April 3136, while seeking to gather intelligence for Danai, and being held in custody for an extended period in the dungeon of the Amur Palace as a hostage against Danai's good behavior.[9][10][11]

Finally released on 20 June 3136[12], he participated in the renewed and ultimately successful assault on Aldebaran in October 3136, where he lead a Company of 3rd Battalion's forces.[13] Following this success, Danai view of Bell and his romantic attractions changed, and she initialed a sexual tryst with him at a hotel in  Jifang Po City where they were staying.[14]

Tactics[edit]

In battle Bell was known for using his Jump Jets to obtain good firing positions, and then using his Energy Weapons at range, while keeping his Ballistic Weapons for close combat.[1]

BattleMech[edit]

Bell was known to have piloted a Yu Huang BattleMech, serial number CC201-12A, which was nicknamed "Thunderball". Recently built for the Capellan Confederation as of 3133, it was not known why a foreign MechWarrior received the privilege of piloting such a prestige Capellan assault ‘Mech.[1][15]
