Jiang Bao was the commander of the Capellan Confederation's invasion of Demeter in 2828.[1]

Colonel Bao, commanding the First Redfield Regulars and Twenty-fifth Sian Dragoons, landed on the Federated Suns world of Demeter on 2 June 2828 and quickly began pushing back the forces of the Fourth Syrtis Fusiliers. While the Fourth Syrtis managed to survive the Capellans' efforts to destroy them entirely, they were left badly beaten and mostly ran harassing attacks against Bao's supply lines. After two weeks of cat-and-mouse conflict, both sides learned of Chancellor Ilsa Liao's death on Orbisonia, resulting in a heavy blow to the Capellans' morale and the reinvigoration of the Syrtis Fusiliers. When the Federated Suns reinforced Demeter with the Thirty-ninth Avalon Hussars and the Screaming Eagles' Bald Eagles regiment on 30 June, Bao would finally order his troops to withdraw from the world.[1]
