Description
Built by Johnson Industries, the JI-50 or commonally known by its nickname "Jifty" was common design in the Federated Suns during the late 31st Century.
The Jifty was used to bring repair capacities to broken and downed units in the field.
The vehicle was primarily produced on New Syrtis at Johnson's auxiliary manfacturing wings. Though by 3069 the Johnson Industries have given permits to smaller companies to manfacture them.
The various invasions during the early parts of the Jihad, had number of the Jifty fall into other faction hands. This happened principly during the Taurian invasion 3067 and House Liao's Operation Thunderstrike has spread vehicle into hands of neighboring factions.
Equipment & Capacities
The vehicle is equipt pair of lift hoists able to handle cargo or salvage. The vehicle has crew of 6 with 2 as gunners for the Jifty's two light machine guns.
Cargo
The Jifty is equipt with a cargo bay with 19.5 ton lift capacity with accessible door in the rear.
Variants
- JI-50 (Machine Gun Variant) - Field modificatiion that Light Machine Guns dropped for standard Machine Guns.
- JI-50 (Unarmed Variant) - Field modification that has all its weaponry dropped for third Lift Hoist, but with reduced cargo capacity.
- JI-50 (Medium Laser Variant) - Field modification that adds a pair of Medium Lasers added at cost of it cargo capacity.
- JI-50 (Q-Vehicle Variant) - Custom vehicle rumor to designed for ambush buster. Exchanges its cargo capacity for its fill of SRM launchers and ammunition.[1]
- Nifty Support Vehicle - Produced by Blue Bull, Inc. the vehicle is a ICE powered knock off of the Jifty that appeared during the Jihad. Johnson attempted to sue to patent violation, but failed due chaoic war.
