Smith was a crew member in the tank commanded by Captain Joanna Richelou, with fellow tank crew Alex Raxis, John Smith and Arthur Dinsdale.[2]

Joe Smith was known to crew a Behemoth Heavy Tank, nicknamed the "Shamblin' Ace," which the Bandits had acquired in 3026 for testing.[2]
