History
John Amos "French Fry" Ames was one of those who served in the Seventeenth Recon Regiment, also known as Camacho's Caballeros, and was one of those on active duty with the Caballeros in 3056 when they were employed by Chandrasekhar Kurita to provide security for one of his companies, Hachiman Taro Enterprises. Prior to marrying Raven O'Connor, John had been a member of a circle of friends in the Caballeros that included Lieutenant Senior Grade Buck "Sawbuck" Evans, Lieutenant Junior Grade Billy "Cowboy" Payson and Lieutenant Rebel "Reb" Perez; it was during these wild bachelor days that he'd earned the callsign "French Fry", based on what he used to stick up his nose at parties.[1]
John piloted a Phoenix Hawk, and when the regiment arrived on Masamori, he was serving as a Lieutenant in Adelante Company under Captain Juan Pedro "Don Coyote" O'Rourke.[1] Following Don Coyote's death in an attack on the HTE compound in Masamori on the 15th of October, John was promoted to Captain and took command of Adalente.[2]
