Jolassa-Kumbold Armored Weapons was a weapons manufacturer in the Federated Suns.
Overview
Formerly known as Jolassa Armored Vehicles, the company was known for producing the Fury command tank on Tybalt for the Star League Defense Force.[2] Jolassa's only Fury assembly plant was partially destroyed by a Draconis Combine nuclear attack in the opening salvos of the First Succession War and the loss of advanced technologies made the tank essentially extinct by the Second Succession War.[1]
The Fury was reborn when Interstellar Expeditions discovered a massive storage vault in 3068, situated underneath the factory's foundation and containing pristine Furies and other Jolassa weapon systems. The company's successor, Jolassa-Kumbold Armored Weapons, assumed operation of the site and moved the contents off-world, re-introducing the combat vehicle for the Armed Forces of the Federated Suns.[1]
During the Jihad, the facility on Bristol suffered minimal capital and personnel losses of 15% and the operating capacity was at 95% in 3079.[3]
The Republic of the Sphere retooled and reopened the old Jolassa factories on Tybalt to produce heavy construction, cargo, and civilian transport vehicles,[2] suggesting it may not have been under the Jolassa name.
