Description

KC-9 latest in a series of industrial air transports created by Lockheed/CBM Industries of Gibbs starting 3001 with KC-5. The aircraft dubbed by the media name King Karnov due to its passing appearance of NETC's Karnov VTOL.

The aircraft seen services in both the civilian industrial and military markets.

The KC-9 has number of compeditors in its field, including the Federated Suns's Cal-Boeing SA-10 "Swallow" and Andurien AeroTech's AAC-60 "Walrus" in Free Worlds League.

Cargo & Capacities

The aircraft has cargo capacity of 76 tons with access to cargo hold via rear door.

KCs are able to take off from short run ways and land vertically via their tilt-rotor turbines. The aircraft is protected by six tons of Industrial-grade armor, able withstand the majority of heavy weaponry.

KC-9 features Prop & VSTOL chassis and control modifications, 1 lift hoist at the rear aircraft.

Variants

*KC-5 - First production model of the King Karnov, which had Praht 450 Internal Combusion Turbines first introduced in 3001.

*KC-6 - Second production model, this model includes the Praht powerplant, but introduces a sophicated communicaton system.

*KC-10 - proposed military version of the KC-9. The vehicle, initially to be sold to AFFC. This would have featured Skyshield Armor, which would mimic strength of military-grade armor. Plans were dropped after cost of the new armor would not be compable with current primary mission.
