Karlotte was the commanding officer of the Forty-fifth Striker Irregulars of Clan Ice Hellion as of 3050.[1]

Star Colonel Karlotte was the only trueborn warrior in the Forty-fifth Irregulars, having failed to achieve a Riedel Bloodname an unprecedented six times. Her tenacity and high placement in these Trials of Bloodright earned her command of the Forty-fifth Irregulars and, to demonstrate her disdain for the Bloodname system while simultaneously keeping her freeborn warriors in shape, regularly had the unit engage in mock Trials of Bloodright during periods of downtime. Any warrior who won these exercises earned a derogatory nickname from Karlotte and a week's worth of extra rations.[1]
When her clan launched their Hellion's Fury campaign following the commencement of Operation REVIVAL, Karlotte's Irregulars were tasked with taking Clan Hell's Horses Mining Complex HH-Epsilon-12 on Hoard. Fighting against the Fifty-third BattleMech Cluster, a training unit, Karlotte's freeborn soldiers caught the Horses unaware with a combat drop directly into the Circle of Equals. Unfortunately, the Horses had trained specifically to counter such an attack and, once they had retreated and regrouped, whittled the Forty-Fifth Irregulars down in single combat. Ultimately, Karlotte's freeborn could not best the trainees of the Fifty-third BattleMech and were forced to retreat off-world.[2]
