Tai-sa Kuniko Deguchi was the commander of the Ryuken-san, with the Draconis Combine, from at least 3145 to 3152.[1][2]
History[edit]
Deguchi, with the Ryuken-san, was based on Protection as of 3145.[1] In 3152 Deguchi and the Ryuken-san defended Gambier against the Federated Suns, together with supporting mercenaries, against General Richard Daimler of the Davion Assault Guards.
Attempting a bluff to overstate his strength, modelled on the strategy of Theodore Kurita in the War of 3039, Deguchi sending away two groups of mercenaries to assist his Third Battalion on Monroe and to conduct distraction raids into the Crucis March. He did not however have enough authority over Combine forces in the Dragon's Tongue region to successfully implement this plan, and therefore was left on Gambier to fight against a larger Suns force with only his own Ryuken-san and Ravannion's Redemption. Trying to use Gambier's valuable entertainment facilities as fortifications, due to the opposing mercenaries reluctance to destroy the assets they wanted for the landholds they expected to receive as payment for capturing the world, Deguchi manage to frustrate Daimler and create a stalemate. However after Erik Sandoval-Groell provided Gambier with further reinforcements, Deguchi's forces were finally forced to retreat off-world.[2]
