The Last Chance system was home to at least one habitable world and as at 3145 was located in the Periphery region known as The Barrens.[1][2]

System Description

The Last Chance system is located near the Cryfder and Botany Bay systems.[3][4]

System History

The Last Chance system was either settled by the Rim Worlds Republic during the Star League era at some point after the end of the Reunification War, or was an already-settled planet that became significant enough for Inner Sphere nations to record its location within the Republic's Apollo Province.[5][3][4]

Clan Jade Falcon conquered Last Chance during the opening stages of Operation REVIVAL, the Clan invasion of the Inner Sphere. Last Chance was then invaded for a second time when forces from Clan Ice Hellion captured the world from the Falcons as part of an invasion of the Jade Falcon Occupation Zone;[30][31] Star Captain Lira led forces from the Ice Hellion Beta Galaxy to capture Last Chance in late September or early October 3071.[39] The Ice Hellions were only able to hold Last Chance until December, however, when the world was assaulted by Clan Hell's Horses.[31][40]

In 3082 the Hell's Horses withdrew their forces from several systems, among them Last Chance. The system joined Botany Bay and Gotterdammerung to form the Ragnarök Union.[41]
