Ludwig Oberlin was the commanding officer of the 1065th Millerton Armored Regiment in 3064.[1]

History

Ludwing is the baron of a small but wealthy landhold, and his command style is the perfect definition of a Social General[2]. He is known to run the unit (starting with his command company) like a small fiefdom and to be more interested in planning a party than military exercises[1]. He has not been inside his command tank since 3062 because he is too fat to get through the hatch. Even prior to the start of the FedCom Civil War, he has been compiling reports that no one reads, and praying that no one drafts the 1065th into combat.[2]

Rules

Games Rules

Oberlin has +6 Protocol/Lyran Alliance, +3 Acting/Deception and +2 Appraisal Skills. He also has +9TP Extra Income (see p. 116,AToW, a -4TP Handicap/Fat (see p. 118, AToW), a +8TP Property (see p. 122, AToW), and a +6TP Title (see p. 126, AToW) traits.

If he is on the board, all 1065th units (except for the infantry) suffer -2 on all Initiative rolls and the enemy gains the Overrun Combat (see p. 1 93, TO) ability. If the HQ truck Oberlin is in gets attacked, the truck will retreat off the nearest friendly map edge. If that happens, Leutnant-Colonel Nancy Donner takes command and the Initiative Roll penalty is only -1 and the enemy loses the Overrun Combat ability.[3]
