Sarna.net Classic BattleTech Wiki

Welcome to Sarna.net -- serving the Classic BattleTech community since 1994.

Please join the discussions in the Forums, or browse the Downloads section for thousands of Classic BattleTech files.

September 2006:

I have converted much of Sarna.net to a Wiki, using MediaWiki. Anyone who registers on the site can contribute to keeping BattleTech alive. Contributing is easy! Please read the Help page for more information, including wiki syntax.

January 22nd, 2006:

It's been quite a while, huh?
I started Sarna.net all the way back in 1994 -- I had just bought BattleTech 3rd Edition and was getting into computers at the same time. Basic HTML and a few links later, the site was born. Eventually, I began searching far and wide for every BattleTech file and tidbit I could get my hands on, and compiled it into the site. I've put a lot of time and energy into this project, but it is all for love of the game.
Sadly, these days, I don't play BattleTech much any more -- I haven't played the board game in a couple years. I've played most of the video games, a bit of Neveron (still the 8th oldest surviving empire, run by a friend of mine), but BattleTech is still in my heart. I sold most of the non-rule books a while ago, something that I now regret, but you never know at the time. I hope others are out there still playing. It's great to see sites like Classic BattleTech still going strong, and several projects still being developed for BattleTech.
As far as the site goes, I spent a little time and fixed most of the broken links. They should point to their proper file archive locations now. I had spent last summer reorganizing the entire archive, and there's a wealth of great information in there. I'll try to add a search engire for it at some point. The submissions section was taken out, and some of the Background information has a bit of work to do before I put it back up. There won't be much more active work on the site, now that I have everything in a decent state. I will gladly take any new file submissions for the archive (email me). The site doesn't make any money, but thanks to Neveron sponsoring ads, some of the hosting costs are paid for. Thanks, guys.
In the meantime, feel free to say hi on the Forums. I'm around. And I'll make sure this site stays up as long as I can.
