Planetary History
Maisons was a colony world settled by the Lyran Commonwealth late in the Star League era. The local governor and a substantial number of the planetary rulers were subsequently revealed to be corrupt and members of an interstellar crime syndicate during Operation CATALOG, a wide-scale operation conducted by the Commonwealth to identify and disrupt criminal networks. The Sixteenth Arcturan Guards were deployed to put down the resulting rebellion on Maisons, while the planetary militia were convinced to deploy by the compromised planetary authorities, ostensibly to defend Maisons against "Commonwealth oppression". The Sixteenth's deployment was swift and brutal, successfully putting the rebellion down despite allegations that the government had made appeals to the Free Worlds League for asylum, but protests about the Sixteenth's actions rose as far as the Star League Council.[12]
