History[edit]

Blackout[edit]

A freebirth descended from Clan Nova Cat warriors who fought with Devlin Stone during the Word of Blake Jihad, Malisa had to struggle to earn her place within the Spirit Cats, passing enter Trial of Position with a single kill to earn the rank of MechWarrior. Her fanatical devotion to her Clan, and the Republic of the Sphere, was enough however to earn her a slot in the elite Shiva Keshik. In combat Malisa often started a battle in a frenzy, charging her enemies with guns blazing without regarding for the risk of over-heating, but became calmer and more calculating the longer an engagement persisted.

When the Blackout occurred, Malisa went on a vision quest to determine her way forward, and subsequently claimed she beheld a vision of her defending a wounded Nova Cat against barbarians clad in various colors. She interpreted this as a sign to support Galaxy Commander Kev Rosse, and swore her loyalty to him.[1]

Second Battle of Addicks[edit]

Malisa formed part of the Spirit Cats force under Liz Nostra tasked to capture Addicks in April 3133, as part of a second Battle of Addicks, from the defending Northwind Highlanders commanded by Captain Naomi Katina.[2] Aiming their initial assault on the oil fields located in the plains of Jesara, the Spirit Cats were able to catch the defenders off guard, and pushed them back after a pitched battle.[3]

This however proved to only be a diversion, with the main Spirit Cats force including Malisa targeting Addick's capital city Saint Randall, leaving the defenders rushing unsuccessfully to reposition.[4] This left the Highlanders the task of trying to recapture Saint Randall, a conflict which quickly became a stalemate, with both sides slowly feeding reinforcements into the meatgrinder. During these battles, Malisa and Liz Nostra clashed with increasing intensity, over Nostra's frustration at Malisa's highly aggressive combat tactics.

The fighting for Saint Randall eventually became to much for the defending Highlanders however, who were forced to retreat off-world in defeat, leaving the Spirit Cats in possession of the world.[5]

BattleMech[edit]

Malisa was known to have piloted a Uller OmniMech, serial number JF327-12E, nicknamed "Whirlwind". This 'Mech was initially bult for Clan Nova Cat's Delta Galaxy before the Jihad, it survived that conflict, and was later gifted to Stone's Republic. In the hands of Malisa, the machine spent more time in the repair bay than on the battlefield, due to damaged Heat Sinks from her battle-frenzy tactics.[1]
