Matthius von Balthus was a First Leutnant in the Sixth Lyran Guards.[1]
History[edit]
Balthus was stationed on Rasalgethi as the tensions of the FedCom Civil War began to boil over in 3062. He was assigned the task of monitoring the actions of the Allied Seventeenth Donegal Guards to ensure they would not enter into hostilities against the Loyalist Sixth. He performed this duty well, until a strong storm caused him to lose track of the Seventeenth just as they staged a surprise attack on the Sixth's headquarters. He fought on for weeks, surrendering only after news reached him of the mutiny in the Sixth and the arrest of Leutnant-General Seth Alpert. Disgusted by the turn of events he left the military, which allowed him to miss the destruction of the Sixth eight years later when Clan Wolf invaded Tomans.[1]
