Mechdur appears on maps in the Star League era, and at the time was located in the Sian Commonality of the Capellan Confederation, close to the border with the Taurian Concordat and near the worlds of Mangzhangdian and Umgard.^[3] Mechdur vanished from maps during the 1st Succession War.^[6]^[10]

The apocryphal BattleTech (video game) has Mechdur as a system of the Aurigan Coalition. As of 3025, the system is described as a thriving manufacturing center and travel hub with three spaceports. The planet was populated by one billion inhabitants.^[33]
