The SLS Minotaur was an Aegis-class heavy cruiser in service to the Star League Defense Force.

The Minotaur was under the command of Commander Theodore Rasmusen when the ship and its accompanying Congress-class FSS Klingenthal were the subject of attacks by agents of the Taurian Concordat in the Panpour system during the Reunification War. Both vessels were attempting to block a trio of Taurian Pinto-class WarShips from being able to attack a troop convoy bound for Tentativa when the Klingenthal was suddenly disabled by an internal explosion and then destroyed shortly thereafter by the Taurian vessels.[1]
Rasmusen believed that the sudden and unexplained explosion aboard the Klingenthal was the result of sabotage, and was forced to pursue the three Pintos rather than simply warning the troop convoy of the raiders due to damaged communications systems. As the Minotaur chased the raiders, personnel aboard the Minotaur identified a virus within the power net and control system software, and soon discover that Taurian saboteurs were aboard the Minotaur. The saboteurs evidently intended to sneak aboard the convoy flagship, but missed their opportunity due to the convoy departing earlier, and instead settled on plans to destroy the Klingenthal and Minotaur instead. Rasmusen and his crew were forced to battle the saboteurs inside the Minotaur, as the saboteurs had hidden themselves within the engineering bay.[1]
The Minotaur survived the Reunification War and the Amaris Civil War and joined General Aleksandr Kerensky on the Exodus during the waning years of the Star League. When the Pentagon Civil War erupted amongst the Star League in exile the Minotaur was one of the naval vessels that remained loyal to the faction headed by Nicholas Kerensky; on the 31st of December 2801 the Minotaur was responsible for laying down an orbital bombardment near Banlan Woods, an area on the Purgatory Peninsula region of Eden near Vesta, to cover the retreat of forces loyal to Nicholas Kerensky following the first instance of two SLDF Divisions actively fighting each other during the civil war. Among those saved by the orbital bombardment was Andery Kerensky and his personal command.[2]
When the Clans launched Operation KLONDIKE Clan Hell's Horses were made responsible for conquering the region of Eden that included the Banlan Woods. When the Hell's Horses arrived, they discovered that the region had been renamed the Minotaur Shatters.[3]

The battle between the SLS Minotaur, FSS Klingenthal, and the three Taurian Pintos takes place four years after Commodore Rasmussen's previous command, the SLS Lakshmi was destroyed in the Flintoft system during the battle to take the system fought between Star League and Taurian vessels. According to Historical: Reunification War, the battle for Flintoft began on 15 March 2581,[4] placing the raid and sabotage in the Tentativa system in 2585 or early 2586.
