Prior to the Battle of Tukayyid, Nick Ward served in the BattleMech Fourth Star of Trinary Fourth Mixed Services within the 4th Striker Cluster under Star Colonel Charles Dinour.[1]
Nick Ward would gain notoriety within the Clans by being to first warrior to openly admit to falling in love with an Inner Sphere doctor while his unit was stationed on Dawn. While many in the Clans knew this was technically possible, few, particularly those within the Crusaders faction, thought a Clan warrior would "fall in love with" a barbarian. Despite the prejudice of his fellow warriors, Nick continued to carry on his duties in his usual competent fashion.[2]
