Oda Hideyoshi (born 30?- killed 3058) was a Kurita MechWarrior and commander of the Otomo.
Personal History
There are not much data about Oda's history, but as with any other Otomo warrior, it must have been an elite warrior or highly decorated veteran chosen by the Coordinator itself and approved by the ISF. Later, it is known than he was the Otomo commander for more than fifteen years, and was a hard-line veteran of the ol school, and prefers Takashi Kurita Bushido philosophies over those of his son, Theodore Kurita, but his loyalty to him appears to be above repproach... in theory.[2] In fact, despite the fact than he accepted to pilot a kuritan OmniMech, a Sunder, when more traditionalists prefer to keep their old machines, he joined the Black Dragon Society and accept to help them to kill Theodore Kurita. They decided to attack in the celebration of the Coordinator's Birth, the 1 of July of 3058. However, the plot failed thanks to the efforts of the mercenary group Camacho's Caballeros, the Ninth Ghost Legion and the ISF leader, Subhash Indrahar, who sacrified his life to decapitate the conspiration.[3] The commander of the Ninth, Tai-Sa Eleanor Shimazu, engaged with Oda's Sunder with his heavier BattleMech Mauler before he reachs the Coordinator's stand, downing him.[4]
Death and Legacy
Ironically, Oda was temporally saved by the First sword of Light, who, mistook the Ghost Regiment as the real traitors, put an end to the fight. Oda ask permission to put his 'Mech in its feet again at the First's commander, Tomoe Sakade, wife of Theodore, and as deference, it was granted. But after his Sunder was again on his feet, Hideyoshi charged against the Coordinator's stands, screaming ¡Death to the traitor!. But barely had advanced before the combined fire of Shimazu and the Sakade reach him in his back and made the Otomo's leader OmniMech to blow, killing him instantly.[5] After Oda's death and the fail of the plot, Theodore ordered purges over any Black Dragon sympathizer.

It is unknown what class of BattleMech Oda piloted before, but his last machine was a Sunder Kuritan OmniMech.
Notes
Oda appears to be the only known Otomo commander to betray his coordinator.
