Omega Galaxy is the primary defensive force of Clan Wolf-in-Exile.

History[edit]

In 3054, Omega Galaxy (PGC) was station range of worlds in Wolf Clan's Inner Sphere holdings. These included Vorarlberg, Stanzach, Engadin, Ferleiten, Dawn, Leoben, Balsta, Skallevoll, and Wheel.[1]

The Refusal War[edit]

Omega Galaxy was stationed on planets at the heart of the Wolf Occupation Zone. It was held as a reserve force to aid any hard-pressed garrison unit. It could be moved rapidly with deteriorating the outer Wolf defenses. For this reason it was chosen, at the command of Ulric Kerensky, to follow Phelan Ward into exile in 3057.[2] During the chaos of the flight to Morges and the constant reorganization of the Wolf forces as more survivor poured in the exact composition of Omega Galaxy was very fluid from December 3057 to early 3058. Identification of Clusters was compounded by the Inner Sphere agencies inability to identify mixed units of warriors.[3][4]

Survivors of the Thirty-seventh Striker Cluster made their way back to the Wolves in exile. Along the way they absorbed a few Warden warriors from the 341st and 352nd Assault Clusters and these were integrated in order to rebuild it. The cluster was assigned to Omega for a short time and its strength boosted by the addition of second-line warriors. It was quickly renamed the Second Wolf Legion and transferred to the newly founded Beta Galaxy.[5][6]

The Jihad[edit]

During the Jihad, Omega Galaxy mostly garrisoned Arc-Royal. The First and Second Wolf Guards were on the world when the Word of Blake hit it in 3072. The assault inflicted serious losses on the two Clusters. Later the Fourth Wolf Guardians would repay the Blakists as they destroyed the Fiftieth Shadow Division on Bountiful Harvest.[7]

Dark Age[edit]

In the Dark Age, Omega was still the primary garrison unit of the Exiled Wolves. They sustained serious losses when the Jade Falcons assaulted the Lyran Commonwealth, and though they were in position to cut off any Falcons who continue to press an assault, Omega would take serious losses and possibly be destroyed.[8]

Notes[edit]

Field Manual: Updates lists the component Clusters as Guards and not Guardians, confusing the Fourth Wolf Guards of Alpha Galaxy with the Fourth Guardians of Omega. This mistake is continued in Field Report: Clans, Field Manual: 3145, but not Field Manual: 3085 were the units are correctly named.
