Colonel Simon Kelswa leads 25 Lyran Commonwealth Special Forces troops to steal BattleMech plans from the Terran Hegemony factory on Hesperus II.[citation needed]

The operation was considered a success with the Lyran Commonwealth acquiring technical specifications to build the Hegemony's Mackie which ultimately provided inspiration for entirely new designs such as the Ymir.[1]

In the aftermath of Operation PROMETHEUS, the Terran Hegemony responded by initiating plans to significantly expand their BattleMech forces with new designs since they knew it would not be long until copies of their Mackie appeared on every border. The result was the HAF expanding their BattleMech forces even further with new 'Mechs like the Archer, Griffin, and Orion.[2]
