The Outland Legion was the name given to a group of warriors from across the Inner Sphere who fought for Victor Steiner-Davion during the FedCom Civil War.[1]

History

During the second wave of the FedCom Civil War, the Outland Legion fought on Coventry.[2] They then went to York, where they faced the 11th Arcturan Guards and retreated in disarray, as did all the other Allied units.[3]

Elements of the Outland Legion supported the 244th Division's assault on Furillo, but most of Wave Three was spent fighting alongside Victor on Dar-es-Salaam fighting the Dar-es-Salaam CTM.[4]

They then landed on Tikonov in Wave Six, along with the 6th Crucis Lancers, 244th Division, 23rd Arcturan Guards, and Valexa CMM. After fighting for a few weeks, they withdrew from the world, escorting Victor.[5] The fact that they were Victor's escort served to distract LIC from finding Victor; The Outland Legion landed on Thorin and pinned two Loyalist units in place while Victor was elsewhere. It took the Loyalist units several weeks to find out that Victor wasn't present on Thorin thanks to the Legion's efforts.[6]

When Victor returned to Tikonov, the Outland Legion rejoined him.[7] In Wave Seven the Legion escorted Victor to New Avalon, and landed on that world's Brunswick continent with the 23rd Arcturan Guards, 6th Crucis Lancers, 10th Lyran Guards, 1st NAIS Cadet Cadre, and a battalion of the 1st St. Ives Lancers.[8] After fighting Loyalist forces for several weeks, the Loyalists surrendered.

No mention is made of what happened to the troops of the Outland Legion after the end of the Civil War. However shortly after the liberation of New Avalon and the end of the FedCom Civil War, the Jihad started. It seems likely that the Legion was used to make up losses in defending units.
