History

The Pride of New Samarkand was one of the first three Kyushu-class frigates to enter service with the Draconis Combine, as the DCS Pride of New Samarkand and an active part of the Combine black water navy by late 3058 alongside the DCS Dieron Star and DCS Galedon Explorer.[1]

By 3067 the Pride of New Samarkand was no longer listed as an active black water naval asset of the Draconis Combine Admiralty.[2]

Rumors surfaced in 3148 that the Pride of New Samarkand had been sent on a secret mission to destroy a Clan Smoke Jaguar Deep Periphery facility named Transfer Facility 4. Reports from the Lyran Intelligence Corps suggested that the Pride of New Samarkand either never made it to the facility or it was lost in a misjump. The Smoke Jaguar garrison was also found missing. Search and rescue operations began when the ship was considered lost, and continued until the First Combine-Dominion War. On 1 January 3063 the Pride of New Samarkand, its DropShips, and other crew were declared missing in action.[3]
