Description[edit]
The Qasar was first introduced by Clan Nova Cat in 2905 and quickly gained a reputation as a capable dueling platform because of its nearly unprecedented thrust and the firepower 26 tons of pod space allowed for. However, the 2948 introduction of the Visigoth began surpassing it in many benchmarks, causing the design to quickly fall into disfavor. This changed when Khan Jacali Nostra revived the plans in the 3130s, and when the Nova Cats revolted against the Draconis Combine in 3141 the Qasar tore through the Slayers and Rievers it was primarily met with. The Suzakus and Koroshiyas stood a chance against this craft, but even then they relied on teamwork.
Weapons and Equipment[edit]
In its primary configuration, the Qasar is a fast dogfighter armed with nose mounted UAC/20 with four tons of ammunition, and eight ER medium lasers on the wings. Two tons of fuel increase the duration of sorties.[2]
Alternate Configurations[edit]
- Alternate Configuration A
- A fast dogfighter, this configuration is armed with five nose mounted ER large lasers and six additional double heat sinks to deal with the increased heat load. BV (2.0) = 2,754[2]
- Alternate Configuration B
- A fire support aerospace fighter, this configuration mounts two ER PPCs in the nose, and four Streak SRM-6s in the wings. BV (2.0) = 2,905[2]
- Alternate Configuration C
- A fire support aerospace fighter, this configuration has a nose mounted RAC/5 and an ER PPC with a PPC capacitor in each wing. BV (2.0) = 3,259[2]
- Alternate Configuration D
- A fast dogfighter, this configuration mounts two ATM 9s in the nose, and six improved heavy medium lasers in the wings. Seven double heat sinks help manage the high heat these weapons generate. BV (2.0) = 2,261[2]
