Planetary History

Early History

Colonists from the Federal Democratic Republics of Finland, Norway and Sweden emigrated in significant numbers after the end of the War Damage Tax payments levied on them as a part of the international rebuilding effort following the Second Soviet Civil War. Choosing a world far from Terra and the oppressive bureaucracy that went with it, the first colonists left in the mid-Twenty-third century and within sixty years had settled Rasalhague and eight other nearby worlds.[1] In the late Twenty-third century these worlds created a joint government to oversee the development of the worlds, creating the Rasalhague Consortium. Contact with other interstellar nations led to the Consortium evolving into the short-lived Principality of Rasalhague, prior to the Principality being conquered by the Draconis Combine in the early to mid Twenty-fourth century.[1]

In 2333 the Draconis Combine invasion of the Principality of Rasalhague was in full swing, with the Combine forces led by Urizen Kurita leapfrogging from world to world in a relentless campaign. Much to the surprise of the citizens of the Principality, the Combine forces actually bypassed Rasalhague in 2333/2334 despite it being the capital world of the Principality - instead, the Combine forces continued to annex worlds such as New Bergen instead.[3]

Star League

At some time during the Star League era, an armed group almost certainly in the employ of a Lyran corporation seized control of one of Rasalhague's Recharge stations. They were attempting to disrupt the exports of Draconis Combine products into the Lyran Commonwealth. The 168th BattleMech Division of the Star League Defense Force responded to this act by deploying a battalion of BattleMechs to the surface of the station. With the station's defenses unable to fire upon the SLDF machines, the attackers were able to secure the station with minimal loss of life and collateral damage.[33]

Clan Invasion

The planet was conquered by Clan Wolf after the Battle of Rasalhague.[34]
