General Richard Daimler was the commander of the Davion Assault Guards, with the Federated Suns, from at least 3145 to 3152.[1][2]

New Avalon[edit]
Daimler, with the Davion Assault Guards, was based on New Avalon as of 3145.[1] As the senior unit commander on the Davion capital, General Daimler led its defense preparations, as it awaited a Draconis Combine invasion following the Palmyra Disaster. Denied WarShip support by Caleb Davion losing the Lucien Davion at Palmyra, Daimler sought to focus on New Avalon's ground and near-orbit defenses.[3]
Operation SOLAR FLARE[edit]
Ejected from the Davion capital world when it was conquered by the Draconis Combine in 3146, by 3152 Daimler was participating in Operation SOLAR FLARE, the Suns campaign to recover the Dragon's Tongue. This included a frustrating fight over Gambier, where Daimler struggled with a lack of aerospace support, against the defending Ryuken-san and Ravannion's Redemption mercenary unit. Using the local entertainment industry infrastructure which the General Daimler needed to capture in order to compensate his own mercenary support as staging areas, the Combine forces happily destroyed these facilities whenever Suns units attacked to closely, as a way to punish them.
Cursing the Combine's wanton mayhem, General Daimler attempted to crush the Ryuken within the city of Oliver, but the Ryuken were able to turn it into a death trap which stalled the Davion assault for six weeks. This continued until Erik Sandoval-Groell, passing through on his way to Monroe and angry about a lack of progress, detached reinforcements to assist including additional mercenaries. While successful in driving the Combine from Gambier, the new mercenaries provided Daimler with an even bigger headache, as the various units argued over which landhold each was entitled to for their services. Daimler pushed this problem up the chain of command, until it reached First Prince Julian Davion's desk, though in the meantime it made the mercenary units unavailable for the subsequent waves of Operation SOLAR FLARE.[2]
