Planetary History

Roadside was settled in the late 24th century to take advantage of the vast amounts of fertile soil. These vast plains were perfect for agricultural production of the Lyran Commonwealth. Unfortunately, a small microbe in the planet's water supply infested the colonists and afflicted them with a variety of short-term intestinal problems. Once the colonists recovered, scientists discovered that these microbes became a part of the person's digestive tract. In addition the microbes had beneficial effects in combating certain types of stomach and intestinal cancer.[1]

Clan Invasion

Roadside was conquered by Clan Jade Falcon during the Third Wave of Operation Revival in June 3050. When the 1st Falcon Velites landed on the planet they were not immediately confronted by the defenders. Instead of giving the invaders the open confrontation they were expected, the Roadside Militia had split up into small lance- and platoon-sized units in order to conduct surprise ambushes on individual Clan Stars. While this tactic did result in a number of losses and tied up the 1st Velites for nearly two weeks, the use of dishonorable tactics only infuriated the Jade Falcons who, in revenge, hunted down and killed every single militia member.[33]

FedCom Civil War

During the FedCom Civil War the Fifteenth Arcturan Guards and Archer's Avengers destroyed the Jade Solahma Cluster trinary assigned to defend the planet by destroying an ammunition plant.[34]

The Jihad

Clan Jade Falcon forces conquered Roadside for a second time in late January 3069 during the Jihad.[25]
