Roger DeChavilier was a son of Star League Defense Force General Aaron DeChavilier.

Roger DeChavilier was Aaron's eldest son and second oldest of his five children. He would join the SLDF and work his way up to the rank of major,[1] which in the Regular Army meant he commanded a battalion.[3]
DeChavilier was assigned to the 199th BattleMech Division of the XXIII Corps, Fifteenth Army. In 2765, his unit was moved to the Outworlds Alliance during the Periphery Uprising, where he and the bulk of the 199th would be destroyed in the fighting on Lushann.[1][2]
